![]() ![]() The duel between Yugi and Kaiba begins with Kaiba using the virtual reality system to make the image of a giant Coliseum appear around the duel field. ![]() Villain Respect: Pegasus develops this for Joey after reading his mind and learning of determination to save his sister from going blind by winning the prize money.#2 - Clash In The Coliseum (Part 1 of 6) Season 3 - Episode 32 - Aired.Taught by Experience: Remembering Joey's Time Wizard from his duel with Bonz, Keith anticipates him using it again and sets his Time Machine trap to counter it.The Disney Villain Death inflicted upon him instead allows him to make a return appearance. Spared by the Adaptation: In the manga version of events, Pegasus punishes Bandit Keith's cheating with a fatal Penalty Game.Laser-Guided Karma: Despite pulling every underhanded trick he had to get Joey out of the tournament, Keith gets his butt handed to him in and out of the duel by not only Joey, but Pegasus as well. While Joey admits that it was the one Mai gave him, both he and Pegasus call Keith out on the cheat, questioning how Keith would even know in the first place. I Never Said It Was Poison: Keith slips up by claiming Joey's card for the finals entry wasn't his (Keith stole Joey's own card beforehand).Plus, since it brings the monster back before Keith stole Joey's Shield and Sword, it has enough power to deliver the final blow. It's subverted immediately after, however, as Joey uses his Graverobber card to copy Keith's Time Machine card and restore Red Eyes. It swaps the attack and defense points of both Red Eyes and Slot Machine, allowing Slot Machine to become stronger. Hoist by His Own Petard: Keith activates his "Pillager" card to steal one card from Joey's hand-namely, the Shield and Sword.Disney Villain Death: Pegasus delivers one to Keith via a Trap Door.A thoroughly unfazed Pegasus calmly says "Fine, one two three" and sets off the Trap Door that drops Keith into the ocean. Counting to Three: After losing to Joey and being literally dragged away by Pegasus' goons, Keith pulls a gun on Pegasus and gives him to the count of three to give him the prize money.Pegasus also states even if Keith hadn't stolen Joey's card, and hadn't lost the duel, he still would have been disqualified anyway for cheating during the duel, since Pegasus reveals he saw Keith hid his "7 Completed" spell cards. All this does is reveal to everyone that Keith stole Joey's real entry card, which Pegasus claims was obvious even beforehand, since Keith was so confident Joey wouldn't make it back before the time limit was over. He tries to get Joey disqualified, claiming the entry card he used wasn't his and thus the duel shouldn't count. He loses the duel to Joey despite cheating by hiding two of his "7 Completed" cards up his wristbands.Cheaters Never Prosper: This happens to Keith on multiple levels. In the dub, he just points at him while delivering his threat. Keith threatens Pegasus with a gun in the sub.Whereas in the original version, it's based on a revolver that deals with Russian Roulette, the dub changes it into a laser cannon to make it a more Family-Friendly Firearm. The dub drastically changes Keith's Barrel Dragon. The dub considerably cuts bit of what Pegasus sees in Keith's mind, which showed that after he was defeated by Pegasus, he turned to alcohol and underground dueling in order to make money. He also seems to admire Joey winning despite the endless cheating, and exposes Bandit Keith before having him ejected. Affably Evil: Pegasus seems genuinely charmed when he reads Joey's mind to discover that he's dueling to save his sister's eyesight, relating it to his own desire to revive Cecelia. Now, the only match left is between Yugi and Joey. Pegasus won't have any of it and casually drops him down a trap door into the ocean. Pegasus intervenes and confirms that Keith not only stole Joey's card, he cheated during the match as well.īut Keith breaks free of Pegasus's guards and threatens to take the prize money by force. He claims that Joey's entry card doesn't belong to him and he should be disqualified as a result, but Joey then asks him how he knew that. Joey attacks Slot Machine and wins the duel, but Keith isn't ready to give up. Joey planned for that, however, and uses a trap to steal one of Keith's own cards, Time Machine, which restores his Red-Eyes Metal Dragon to how it was one turn ago-before its points were swapped. Unable to beat Joey by force, Keith resorts to cheating in order to power up his Slot Machine card, and uses a card to steal Joey's Shield and Sword to wipe him out. Its powerful guns lay waste to Joey's monsters, but he's able to metallize his Red-Eyes Black Dragon in order to beat it. Bandit Keith brings out one of his most devastating cards, Barrel Dragon.
